NP Set, Target Just Got More AWESOME!

If you follow me on Twitter, you may think that I have a bit of a "problem", if you may, with TARGET. I prefer to think of it as a symbiotic relationship, but whatever.

Anyway, I was in there today for the 40th time this week, and I happened upon a cosmetics brand I had never heard of. NP Set, by Napoleon Perdis. I was immediately intrigued of course, because I had never heard of it, and a lot of the stuff was super cool! So of course after standing there browsing for what seemed like forever, and emailing the company to get their suggestions, this is what I went home with. (In another Target trip. In my defense though, I needed groceries) HA HA HA

Anyway-the goods.

NP Set Red Carpet Palette

Eyeshadow Duo Saint Croix

NP Set LipGloss Mykonos

NP Set Liquid Eyeliner Duo-LaPaz

I really like everything I got! The eye-shadows glide on really nicely, and are build-able. There is a bit of fall out, unfortunately, that is quite common, but primer helps with this. I swatched the duo on my hand for you.

The pink on the left is VERY sheer, and light. It is good for highlight under the brow, and I found with my fair skin I needed a couple of layers for it to show. Once you get the darker shade on, it really pops! It's so pretty! It makes a nice, smokey look, and you can make it as dramatic as you want by building on the darker shade. I just love it.

This eyeliner is AMAZING! It has a dual ended applicator. One end is an opaque blue/green, slightly shimmery liquid liner. The other end is a FABULOUS green glitter. CHECK IT!

From left, the opaque alone, then the glitter, then on the right the glitter over the blue opaque. Isn't it GORGEOUS?!? It reminds me of the colors on a peacock, right up my alley. The eyeliner glides on nice and smooth, and is very easy to handle. I really like this product!

The lip gloss is UBER yummy! When I opened it I first noticed the scent. So fruity, and you guys know how I feel about scent in lip gloss.Well, when I put it on, (WOOHOO!) it TASTED fruity! BONUS! It is a gorgeous sheer pink, lighter than it looks in the tube. It wasn't overly sticky, and had a brush applicator. Unfortunately, I put it on right before I drank hot chocolate, so I'm not sure how long the color would stick around under normal wear, but I'll report back.

I love the palette! It gives you 4 shadows, 2 blushes and 4 lip glosses. It would be great for travel. I think the colors in it would work for most everyone, as they are great neutrals. I'll put together a look for this soon and report back.

I am definitely going to be adding more NP Set to my makeup repertoire. It's very good quality,  and available at a convenient location. I think I'm going to try their primer next. I'll keep you updated!

I Found the Eyeliner of My Dreams, People!

So, you already saw my story about Natalie from the Ulta in Memphis. She did the most BEAUTIFUL catseye/winged liner look on me last weekend.

She also recommended to me the correct tool and eyeliner to purchase to achieve this look.

The eyeliner is PurMinerals Pur Intensity Gel Eyeliner. It is amazing. It glides on like silk. It is almost effortless, and that is saying alot for someone like me, who is not very good at eyeliner.I am learning though!

The only real drawback I see from it is that it dries REALLY fast. It even tells you on the online product listing, to place the lid back on right away,so it doesn't dry. I plan on doing just that, I don't want to lose a precious drop of this stuff! I love it!

The brush she recommended to me is the Bareminerals Eyeliner Brush. This brush is VERY reasonably priced at $12. I find that it is perfectly matched for the eyeliner. It picks up plenty of the product and glides right on. I find it very easy to create the shapes, and lines that I want. I am SO GLAD I found these products!

So, Im obviously not doing mine as perfectly as Natalie did, but with practice, maybe Ill be at 90%

Why I LOVE Natalie from Ulta in Memphis, Tennessee!

I am very clumsy with eyeliner, and my dream is to the perfect catseye/winged look. When I walked into Ulta yesterday, with my soul-sister Jessie yesterday, I spotted her perfect peepers from a mile away. I meekly asked her for a lesson, and she HAPPILY said yes! It turned out gorgeous, and I was so excited! I mean, like a school kid who just got 1000 hot-wheels excited! She also showed me the perfect products to buy to achieve the look I want, and with more practice, I'm confident I'll get as good at it as she is!!

Check out the awesomeness!!!

I did my own this morning- you'll see that in another post.I didn't do nearly as well, but not terrible for my first try.

THANK YOU NATALIE! I hope you see this!

Dr.Perricone No Concealer Concealer- REVIEW

I already had a concealer I loved (Makeup Forever shade 1) but being the way that I am, I read about this one and seeing as how it got rave reviews I just HAD to go buy it.

Here is the description from the Perricone website:

Featuring broad spectrum UVA and UVB, non-chemical, mineral-based SPF 35 protection, this concealer treats skin while concealing discoloration, dark circles, imperfections. Ideal for reviving tired looking eyes, as well as an eye lid primer for smooth, long-wearing makeup. This crease-proof, long wearing, and easily blendable concealer comes in one shade suitable for most skin types. This non-drying formula is fully loaded with anti-aging ingredients that deliver results both instantly and overtime.

BENEFITS

- Instantly camouflages imperfections and dark circles.
- Softens fine lines and delivers powerful anti-aging benefits with Neuropeptides and Vitamin C ester.
- Great primer for eye make-up; longwearing and extends makeup wear time.
- Crease-proof, non-drying with one universal shade for most skin tones.
- Protects with broad spectrum UVA and UVB, non-chemical, mineral based SPF 35.

Sounded foolproof to me,especially the part about it being suitable for most skin shades. I was really excited, I had a huge old zit on my chin, put some on in my bathroom lighted mirror, and I was looking pretty good. So I get in my car, pull down the mirror in the sun visor like always, and HOLY ORANGE BATMAN! I had a massive orange spot on face where my zit was! I was running late, there was absolutely no way I could go back in and take it off. I had to go around for 3 hours with a huge orange spot on my face. It was really bad. So, I learned two lessons that day, the bathroom light is totally different than outdoor light, and this concealer does NOT work for my skintone. Oh, it smells weird too.

I purchased this at Sephora for $45.  Thankfully they refunded my money.

Ipsy...I'm on the Fence...

So, I had cancelled my membership to Birch box because it had turned out to be a colossal disappointment for me. I heard about this other one called Ipsy through some other Bloggers on Twitter, so I signed up. It seemed really cool because you get high end cosmetics in a make-up bag monthly. The cost is only $10, and looking at their website at past bags it seemed pretty cool. Their website is here: Ipsy .

I received my bag yesterday and I am on the fence about it. It came in this pretty pink padded envelope, which the girl in me LOVED.

When I opened it up, this is what I found.

Now I will admit I did get a little excited about the make-up brush. I am always looking for new brushes and this one is different from anyone I have ever seen. It had notches in the top part of the handle for your fingers to rest in to make it easier to manipulate. I LOVE IT! I forgot to add it is a concealer brush, a medium sized one, and I have a Mount Rushmore on my chin right now so it will get used this weekend.
 Here is another photo.

You can see here how my thumb and forefinger rest in the grooves? It is just great.

Here's the rest of the bag.

Sorry I repeated the brush again, but I got a bottle of this tomato red nail polish,Josie Maran Argan oil, Big Sexy Hairspray, and Pacifica  Body butter mini.

I don't like the color of the polish. It's weird, like a tomato. LOL. I don't see myself using it,honestly.

The Josie Maran item I was happy about. Her items are high quality, and work very well. The great thing about it is it its versatility. You can use it on your skin, and your hair, or put some in your bathwater!  I will definitely use this, and appreciate having this included in the box.

The Big Sexy Hair hairspray is just a big blah for me. I mean,it's always nice to have a bottle of hairspray laying around, but to me, this is just nothing special.

Pacifica Body butter mini in Tuscan Blood Orange. This stuff smells divine. I mean it smells GOOD. I just wished I used lotion more often. Also there was no seal on my lotion, and I just have this issue with there being no seal on my beauty products.WHAT IS UP WITH THAT??

All in all, it wasn't a bad bag, I'm definitely looking forward to next months, to see what they have in store for me. LET'S DO THIS IPSY!

Mama Loves her Lipgloss!

If it's one thing I have a weakness for, it's lipgloss, and to a lesser extent, lipstick. There's just something so empowering about grabbing that little tube out of your purse and transforming your pout!

When it come to lipgloss, I like it to have a nice scent, not too sticky, and a little bit of flavor doesn't hurt. I also like alot of sparkle. I don't care if I'm going to Target or out to dinner, I like my lips to be shiny and pretty. How about you, what do you prefer?

I have a pretty good stash, and my daughter is jealous. I love my stash, I'm proud of it, and I USE it!!

BEHOLD....the 66 lipglosses that I love.

So as you can see, Mama loves her lipgloss. What do YOU love?
